Moneio ("we", "our", or "the app") is a personal finance tracking application. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Moneio collects the following data, which is stored locally on your device and optionally synced to our secure cloud service (Supabase):

• Financial data: accounts, transactions, categories, budgets, debts, credits, financial goals, and recurring payment rules
• Account information: Apple ID (for sign-in), email address, anonymous user identifier
• Subscription data: subscription status and purchase history (managed by Apple)
• App preferences: theme, language, currency settings

2. AI Assistant and Third-Party Data Sharing

Moneio includes an AI Assistant feature that provides personalized financial insights. When you use the AI Assistant:

• What data is sent: Your financial summary including account names and balances, recent transactions, spending categories, active debts and credits, financial goals, and budgets
• Who receives it: The data is sent to our secure backend server hosted on Railway (railway.app) for AI processing
• How it is used: The data is used solely to generate a personalized AI response to your query
• Data retention: Financial data sent to the AI service is not stored on the server after the response is generated
• Your consent: Before using the AI Assistant for the first time, you will be asked for explicit permission to share your financial data. You can decline and continue using all other features of the app

3. Data Storage and Security

• Your financial data is stored locally on your device using an encrypted SQLite database
• If you sign in with Apple ID, your data is synced to Supabase (supabase.com) using encrypted HTTPS connections
• Cross-device subscription verification uses a secure shared Keychain identifier

4. Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect or store bank account numbers, credit card numbers, or other payment credentials
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing
• We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs

5. Your Rights

• You can delete all your data at any time from the app's Settings
• You can use the app without signing in (data stays local only)
• You can decline AI data sharing and still use all other features
• You can request deletion of your cloud data by contacting us

6. Children's Privacy

Moneio is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
